Family Faith Formation is a monthly faith formation program for children in K-6 and their parents. Children attend grade-level classes in St. Odilia classrooms while parents attend adult formation in the courtyard. Parents are also provided with resources to teach their children at home between sessions.
Sessions are held once per month on the first Wednesday of the month from 6:30 - 7:45 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE: Parents will need to fill out one registration per child. This registration is only for children NOT enrolled at St. Odilia School.
Price: $150 per child
Family Max: $300
Adults who volunteer as a catechist will receive reimbursement for one child's tuition.
As we strive to follow Fr. James' vision of relevant, relational, and rigorous catechesis, we are making two changes this year:
- First, to increase the rigor of their classes, students will be learning two chapters per class. Families will be responsible for teaching 1-2 chapters between classes.
- Second, to improve the relational support for each child, one adult from each family will attend at least four adult formation sessions. This requirement is waived if the adult is volunteering as a K-6 or Confirmation catechist (teacher) or assistant catechist (chaperone) in a classroom. Adults will deepen their own faith and be better equipped to share the relevance of our Catholic tradition with their kids.
- This adult could be a parent, guardian, godparent/sponsor, grandparent, or another adult in the child's life.
To learn more about volunteering as a catechist or assistant catechist, click here. Adults volunteering as a catechist or assistant catechist should be available to attend all or almost all of their child's Faith Formation classes.
In the 2026-2027 school year, we plan to increase K-6 Faith Formation classes to twice a month. We hope this change will strengthen the relationships between the students and catechists.
